Research Interests: Dionné Mejia is a graduate student working towards a Biology EBE MS/BS degree. She has been working in the lab since 2013 as part of the Cactus Arthropod Project that aims to assess the biodiversity of arthropods in necrotic cactus tissue. Dionné is currently working on sorting and identifying the arthropods that were collected from various cactus species in Baja California Sur and Anza Borrego. She is particularly interested in beetles of the family Staphylinidae, which represent a large portion of the total arthropod specimens and the largest family among the beetle specimens.
