Summer Outreach Internship Opportunities for Visiting Students

Julian Schroeder’s Lab provides summer internship opportunities and mentoring of summer visiting students through UCSD’s partnership with Howard University (http://partnership.ucsd.edu/) and our partnership with Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA; https://biology.ucsd.edu/about/news/article_090117.html) within our

Summer Training Academy for Research Success (STARS) program
(https://crcera.ucsd.edu/training_program/summer-training-academy-for-research-success-stars/)

as well as with the UC San Diego ENLACE Program
(https://www.facebook.com/ENLACEatUCSD/)

Summer trainees in STARS and ENLACE pursue training and research in the Schroeder laboratory. The Summer STARS Internships further include focused graduate school preparation workshops, GRE preparatory training, graduate and fellowship application workshops, regular research and mentoring sessions with Julian, presentations and discussions in lab meetings and presentation of your research at our annual UC San Diego Summer Research Conference, including prior preparation help and practice presentations in the lab. Summer students receive wholistic training and advice that aids and helps students learn about options and plan their next career steps. You can apply online via the UCSD STARS Program or the UCSD ENLACE Program or the UCSD XULA Program and contact Julian Schroeder via email or phone with any questions.
