ctleelab research

The CTLee Lab at UC San Diego develops multiscale physical models which bring to life biological scenes at the subcellular and cellular scales. We are interested in structure--function relationships, such as how chemically detailed membrane-protein interactions generate forces to deform membranes leading to familiar cell shapes (e.g., the folded cristae of mitochondria). We hope to explain the biophysics behind the numerous correlations between cell shape and disease.
