The University of California at San Diego is located at La Jolla, just north of downtown San Diego. It is approximately 15 minutes from the San Diego international airport. To obtain driving directions to the main UCSD campus from any location, please use the UCSD Campus Maps website. (Scroll to the bottom of that page and enter your present location.)
From SOUTH (San Diego international airport):
Take Highway 5 north to Gilman Drive exit. Turn left at lights. Travelling north on Gilman Drive, you will enter campus grounds. There is a visitor center on the right hand side after the underpass. Follow Gilman Drive past several stop signs until you reach the Gilman Parking Structure on your right side. There is metered parking available here. The campus parking office is located here.
From NORTH (Los Angeles):
Take Highway 5 south to Genesse exit (just past Hwy. 805 / Hwy. 5 junction). Turn right at lights. Turn left at top of hill at intersection of Genessee with North Torrey Pines. Campus will be on your left. Turn left on Muir College Drive and follow the road past a stop sign and a right turn to a T-intersection. The faculty club parking lot will be on your right and has metered parking.
Parking:
If you are a faculty or staff parking permit holder with a UC campus, you can obtain a permit for parking at UCSD from the Parking Office before 5:30pm on Friday. Parking on weekends is free.
CalPEG 2004 presentations will be held at the Natural Sciences Building (red circle). Social activities will be held at the International Center (blue circle).
